This ITOL Nationally Accredited Programme is being offered free to promote awareness of anaphylaxis to all Health Care Professionals. Should you need evidence of course completion for your job role or as part of your CPD then there is an option for you to take an online assessment leading to a Nationally recognised certificate
(see below).

Learners who successfully complete this accredited
programme and pass the online assessment will
receive a Nationally recognised ITOL Certificate.
When you have completed the course you have the option to be assessed on your knowledge and comprehension of anaphylaxis.
This includes analysis of case studies and application of the ABCDE approach, including treatments which may be applicable in
your clinical setting.
The certificate can be used as evidence of verifiable CPD and is only issued after successfully completing the assessment.

Course overview
An interactive courses designed for all health care professionals who may be involved in the management and treatment of anaphylactic reactions.
The course involves analysis of case studies and treatment judgments based on information you have been presented with on the course.
As anaphylaxis may be difficult to differentiate from other life threatening or non-life threatening conditions the aim of the course is to ensure that a standardise approach is used when dealing with these situations.
Course objectives:
- Describe a definition for anaphylaxis
- Identify the incidence of anaphylaxis
- Use the ABCDE approach to recognise sick patients
- Define the mechanisms of anaphylaxis
- Discuss how anaphylactic reactions occur
- Discuss the difference between IgE and non-IgE mediated reactions
- Deliver the appropriate treatment in an emergency
When you have completed the course you will be assessed on your knowledge and comprehension of anaphylaxis. This includes analysis of case studies and application of the ABCDE approach, including treatments which may be applicable in your clinical setting.
Once you have achieved the learning outcomes and assessment as described above you will be issued a certificate of course completion.
